I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. With it being the final Saturday of the 2023-24 NHL regular season, it’s only fitting that we get to enjoy the final Battle of New York. Of course, given that it’s weekend action, we also have afternoon games — and the New York Islanders and New York Rangers get us started with a 12:30 pm ET puck drop. To help you add even more thrill to the rivalry, I have shared our best Islanders vs Rangers Same Game Parlay picks.

Along with our NHL Same Game Parlay picks, be sure to check out all of our NHL predictions for today’s action!

Islanders vs Rangers Same Game Parlay (4/13)

Rangers ML (-166)

Over 5.5 goals (-120)

Vincent Trocheck to record an assist (+110)

Parlay odds +325

New York Rangers ML (-166) over New York Islanders

As we come down the home stretch, the New York teams both have the Stanley Cup playoffs in their sights — but not in the same way. Although the Rangers have clinched their spot for quite some time now, given back-to-back losses they are now in jeopardy of losing not only the Metropolitan Division crown but also the Presidents’ Trophy. With the Islanders simply trying to earn a postseason spot, it’s safe to say that both teams are very motivated.

One of those recent losses for the Rangers actually came against these same Islanders, but I’m still more than willing to back them getting their revenge. They have been the superior team all season, so one flat spot is not going to let us forget that. The Rangers had also won 3 straight games against their crosstown rivals, scoring 5 or more goals in each of them. Now that they’ve had a bit of a wake-up call and have teams hot on their heels, the Rangers can win in regulation.

Over 5.5 goals (-120)

There was a bit of foreshadowing above when I mentioned the Rangers ability to score against the Islanders, which is why I’m also predicting a high-scoring game. It’s quite an against-the-grain prediction, as these are generally 2 teams known for defense and low-scoring games. They also have 2 of the best goaltenders in Igor Shesterkin and Ilya Sorokin, but somehow when they face off against each other we see plenty of goals. Whether it’s the hype of the rivalry or some other factor, it’s a trend that simply cannot be ignored.

Of their last 5 meetings we have seen 7 or more goals in 4 of them, and the outlier was a 6-goal game. Similarly, the Islanders haven’t been nearly as stout defensively this year, as they are in the bottom half of the league in terms of goals allowed per game. It’s not what you generally think of with these New York squads, but I anticipate a high-scoring contest.

Vincent Trocheck to record an assist (+110)

Given that we’re predicting a Rangers victory and a high-scoring game, it only makes sense to add an offensive player prop for the winning team. As much attention as Mika Zibanejad and Artemi Panarin get, and rightfully so, Vincent Trocheck seems to fly under the radar. Admittedly, he wasn’t able to record a point in the Rangers most recent game — but with guys like Zibanejad, Panarin and Chris Kreider alongside him, Idon’t expect that to be the case again tonight. Those skaters provide great shooters to link up with, which is why I’m specifically focused on an assist. After all, he has recorded had a point in 4 of the last 5 matchups with the Islanders — including 3 assists.
