March Madness parlay pick: St. Louis Billikens +12.5 vs Michigan Wolverines (-110)
Our first leg in Saturday’s parlay is not for the faint of heart, but there is a path for St. Louis to keep things respectable against top-seeded Michigan. The Billikens put forth an extremely impressive showing in the Round of 64, and this deep, skilled group of veteran college players is not one that will be intimated of the moment against an elite opponent. This is still an offense that can score with any team in the nation, and as long as Josh Schertz’s team is knocking down threes, they are an extremely hard team to guard. Defensively, St. Louis leads the nation in effective field goal percentage allowed, while placing inside the top 10 in 2-point and 3-point defense. This is a game where I expect Michigan to survive and advance, but it wouldn’t shock me if it was closer than oddsmakers are projecting.

March Madness parlay pick: Arkansas -11.5 over High Point Panthers (-110)
The Panthers won as a double-digit underdog against a red-hot Wisconsin team in the Round of 64, and the market appears to be overreacting a bit to that result. After all, the Panthers were still trailing for the majority of the second-half before a late flurry of 3-pointers and a couple of pivotal mistakes by the Badgers in the final minute turned a victory into a defeat. High Point still didn’t do much to slow down Wisconsin, and I wouldn’t expect that to change in this matchup, especially since Arkansas is the best offense in the nation at avoiding turnovers, which is how the Panthers manufacture chaos and turn that into points. Ultimately, Darius Acuff Jr. and the rest of the Razorbacks should dominate this matchup against a very weak High Point defense that won’t be able to create enough havoc to keep this one within the number.

March Madness parlay pick: Texas Longhorns vs Gonzaga Bulldogs Under 147.5 (-110)
This line has come down a bit from the opening number, and for good reason. Since Braden Huff went down back in January, Gonzaga’s offense hasn’t been the same, with the Bulldogs ranked 70th in adjusted efficiency over the last 2 months. However, Mark Few’s group has become an excellent defense over the last 2 months, with the Bulldogs sitting at 10th in adjusted efficiency, to go along with top 20 marks in 2-point percentage defense and 3-point percentage defense allowed (BartTorvik). Furthermore, while Texas center Matas Vokietaitis is coming off an excellent showing against BYU, he’ll have to contend with Graham Ike in this one. That’s not a matchup that I see Vokietaitis winning, and it could be a long evening for a Texas offense that is very reliant on making difficult shots.
