Virginia ML (-102)
Kansas ML (+140)
Iowa vs Florida Under 145.5 (-110)
March Madness parlay odds: +800
March Madness parlay pick: Virginia ML (-102)
Tennessee’s physicality on both ends was too much for Miami (Ohio) to overcome on Friday, but it’s important to consider that the Vols were getting the RedHawks in a fantastic spot. Things are a bit different this time around for Rick Barnes’ group, as Tennessee will take on a Virginia team that should be hungry and motivated following a very poor performance against Wright State in the Round of 64. We can expect Ryan Odom’s group to play with renewed energy and intensity on the defensive end, and Tennessee should be due for a bit of regression following a game in which it shot 53% from the field and 45% from deep. As a head coach, Barnes is on a 4-8 run in this round of the tournament, so let’s back Virginia and look for that losing trend to continue.

March Madness parlay pick: Kansas Jayhawks ML over St. John’s Red Storm (+140)
The market is clearly down a bit on Kansas, but that gives us a bit of value on the Jayhawks in a matchup between a pair of teams that are quite similar on paper. After all, both of these offenses tend to struggle in the halfcourt, and they’ll each be going up against excellent defenses on the other side. With that in mind, it’s hard not to side with Bill Self as an underdog, especially since he’ll have the best player on the court in Darryn Peterson. The freshman phenom is coming off a 28-point effort on Friday and should see success in isolation situations against a St. John’s defense that hasn’t exactly seen elite guard play in the weak Big East. It’s hard to see either team getting much separation in this one, so I’ll roll with Kansas to pull the outright upset.

March Madness parlay pick: Iowa Hawkeyes vs Florida Gators Under 145.5 (-110)
This is one of the bigger clash of styles on the board in the Round of 32, but it’s one that Iowa could end up winning, even if the Hawkeyes likely end up losing this game. Not only does Ben McCollum’s team play at one of the 5 slowest paces in the country this season, but the Hawkeyes also have the ability to slow opponents way down on the other end. Given that Florida is such an elite offense in transition, I don’t see the Hawkeyes crashing the offensive glass all that much. In fact, Iowa will likely look to keep the ball in Bennett Stirtz’s hands and have him make the pivotal decisions late in the shot clock. The last thing any team playing Florida wants to do is get into a track meet, so I’ll trust that this game will be played at a snails pace — at least when Iowa has the ball. Let’s target the under in Tampa Bay.
