MLB best bet: Boston Red Sox F5 -0.5 over Cincinnati Reds (-135)
Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -125.
For my first MLB best bet for today, let’s head to Boston for a matchup between the Red Sox and Reds at Fenway Park. The Red Sox have not been in great form by any means of late, but when Garrett Crochet is on the mound, it’s hard not to target Boston to lead after 5 innings. Crochet has looked every bit of the ace that he was tabbed to be this season, as he’s posted a 2.06 ERA, along with excellent advanced metrics (31.3% strikeout rate, .218 xBA, 31.5% chase rate). While the Reds’ offense is a solid unit, Cincinnati is coming off a couple of difficult series against the Yankees and Padres, and it could certainly start off slow in this series opener.
On the other side, the Reds are opting to go with Chase Burns, who looked extremely impressive in his first couple of innings against the Yankees in his MLB debut last week. However, the young flamethrower still has a lot to learn at the top level in this sport, and that showed itself once New York’s lineup was able to face him for a second time in that outing. The Red Sox are at home and should do enough to scratch off a couple of runs against the budding star, giving their own ace a lead after the 5th inning.

MLB best bet: San Francisco Giants ML over Arizona Diamondbacks (-135)
Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -140.
Our 2nd MLB best bet today takes us to Arizona, where I’m targeting the Giants to take the first game of this crucial series in the NL West. San Francisco starter Logan Webb has long been one of the most consistent pitchers in the game, and the right-hander has been excellent thus far in 2025, posting a 2.52 ERA and surrendering just 30 earned runs over 17 outings. He’ll be facing a strong Arizona lineup, but one that he’s very familiar with and has seen success against the likes of Ketel Marte, Eugenio Suarez and others in the Arizona lineup.
As for the hosts, the Diamondbacks are a team that I was very high on coming into the season, but Arizona has consistently disappointed at every turn, particularly in recent games. The Diamondbacks are fresh off a sweep at the hands of the Marlins over the weekend, and much of that has to do with their inconsistent pitching and struggling bullpen. And while starter Ryne Nelson hasn’t been bad by any means lately, he still struggled against the Giants earlier this season (without the services of Rafael Deveres), and that could rear its ugly head once again on Monday. Let’s take San Francisco to secure a victory in this series opener.
