The 2025 MLB season keeps rolling along, and Saturday features a full 15-game slate for us to enjoy. I’m 29-19 on my MLB best bets this year and the Pickswise MLB handicapping team as a whole is 66-49-5 in these MLB best bets this season. Let’s keep it going as we get into today’s top picks on Saturday, June 21. You can also find out our experts’ MLB picks for all 15 games today!
MLB best bet: Arizona Diamondbacks -1.5 over Colorado Rockies (-140)
Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -150.
My first MLB best bet for this slate comes in Colorado, where I’ll be going back to the well with a fade of the Rockies. While Colorado has been attacking the ball a lot better at the plate, the same cant be said for the pitching staff, with the Rockies having just allowed 14 runs in Friday’s series-opening loss to the Diamondbacks. Arizona should hold a considerable edge on the mound, as Merrill Kelly (3.41 ERA, top 10 percentile in pitching run value) will face off against a lineup he’s certainly familiar with.
On the other side, the Rockies will be going with Carson Palmquist, who is not exactly having an ideal start to his MLB career. Palmquist currently holds a 7.76 ERA, along with a myriad of expected metrics that place him in the bottom 10 percentile of all qualified starters per Baseball Savant. Things certainly aren’t looking up for Palmquist, as he’s taking on an Arizona lineup that is one of the top 5 units in baseball by most metrics. Ultimately, the Diamondbacks should continue their scoring barrage on their way to another victory by 2+ runs against an overmatched opponent.
MLB best bet: Milwaukee Brewers F5 ML over Minnesota Twins (+100)
Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -110.
For my second MLB best bet on Saturday’s card, let’s head to Minnesota for a matchup between the Brewers and Twins. The visitors are sending out Jose Quintana on Saturday, and outside of 2 starts, the veteran left-hander has been pretty solid this season. It certainly helps matters that he’ll be going up against a Twins lineup that is a below average unit in both slugging and OPS. As for Minnesota, the Twins are sending Simeon Woods Richardson to the mound, and the right-hander has some of the worst expected metrics in the league (5.45 xERA, 13.7% barrel rate, .561 xSLG) to this point in the season. As long as Milwaukee can scratch off a couple of runs against the Minnesota starter, this wager should be very live at Target Field.
