The 2025 MLB season keeps rolling along, and Sunday features a full 15-game slate for us to enjoy. I’m 31-19 on my MLB best bets this year and the Pickswise MLB handicapping team as a whole is 66-49-5 in these MLB best bets this season. Let’s keep it going as we get into today’s top picks on Sunday, June 22.

MLB best bet: Cincinnati Reds ML over St. Louis Cardinals (+100)
Odds available at BetRivers Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -110.
For my first MLB best bet on Sundays card, let’s head to St. Louis for a matchup between the Reds and Cardinals. This NL Central clash has real playoff implications as we continue to creep toward the All-Star break, and while St. Louis is looking to create more distance in the standings between these teams, I’ve got Cincinnati stealing the final game of this series behind left-hander Andrew Abbott. The southpaw has been fantastic this season, posting a 6-1 record to go along with a 1.84 ERA. In fact, the last time Abbott faced the Cardinals was back on May 1, where he tossed 4 scoreless innings in a 9-1 victory.
As for the Redbirds, Miles Mikolas will get the start, and he enters this game with a 4-4 record and a 4.35 ERA. The veteran right-hander has lost back-to-back outings, and he’ll be facing a red-hot Cincinnati offense that is averaging 5.5 runs per game over its last 13 contests. Look for Abbott to set down the Cardinals lineup in this matchup while Mikolas’ struggles continue on Sunday.
MLB best bet: Arizona Diamondbacks F5 team total over 3.5 (-120)
Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -130.
My second MLB best bet for this slate comes in Colorado, where I’ll be going back to the well once again with a fade of the lowly Rockies. On one hand, Colorado has been attacking the ball a lot better at the plate in recent weeks. However, the same cant be said for the pitching staff, with the Rockies having just allowed 19 runs over the first 2 games to the Diamondbacks in this series.
Colorado will be going with Antonio Senzatela, who is not exactly having an ideal 2025 season to this point. In fact, Senzatela currently holds a 6.73 ERA, along with a myriad of expected metrics (6.96 xERA, .336 xBA, .574 xSLG), who is certainly one of the worst starting pitchers in baseball this season. that place him in the bottom 5-10 percentile of all qualified starters per Baseball Savant. Things certainly aren’t looking up for Senzatela, as he’s taking on an Arizona lineup that is one of the top 5 units in baseball by most metrics. At the end of the day, the Diamondbacks should continue their scoring barrage in the first 5 innings on Sunday.
