The 2025 MLB season keeps rolling along, and Tuesday features a full 15-game slate for us to enjoy. I’m 32-20 on my MLB best bets this year and the Pickswise MLB handicapping team as a whole is 68-50-6 in this article series this season. Let’s keep it going as we get into today’s top picks on Tuesday, June 24. You can also find out our experts’ MLB picks for all EVERY GAME today!

MLB best bet: Boston Red Sox F5 -0.5 over Los Angeles Angels (-135)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -145.

For my first MLB best bet for Tuesday’s slate, let’s head to Los Angeles for a matchup between the Red Sox and Angels under the lights. The Red Sox have dropped 3 consecutive games following a red-hot stretch in the 10 prior contests, but Boston should get back on track with its ace on the mound in the second game of this series. Garrett Crochet has been as advertised to this point, posting a 2.20 ERA to go along with an elite strikeout percentage (30.8%) and strong expected metrics across the board. He should see plenty of success against an Angels lineup that is a whopping 29th in on-base percentage and 23rd in OPS this season.

As for the hosts, the Angels will send out Tyler Anderson to the mound for this matchup. Anderson has long been a pitcher that I’ve looked to fade over the past few seasons, and both his traditional and advanced metrics are not particularly kind to him through the first 2+ months of the campaign. Anderson holds a 4.56 ERA (4.52 xERA), along with poor marks in ground-ball rate and strikeout percentage. That doesn’t bode well against a Red Sox lineup that is still one of the better units in the game, even without Rafael Devers in the middle. Ultimately, I’ll steer clear of the Boston bullpen and take the Red Sox to lead after 5 innings.

MLB best bet: Athletics vs Detroit Tigers F5 Under 4.5 (-155)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -165.

The handicap for our 2nd MLB best bet on Tuesday’s MLB slate is fairly simple; when Tarik Skubal is on the mound, I’m naturally going to look toward an Under in the first 5 innings. The best pitcher in baseball is in the midst of another phenomenal season, and he’s allowed just 3 runs over his last 22.1 innings pitched at home. The left-hander holds an ERA of 2.06, along with top-10 percentile marks in walk rate, chase rate, strikeout percentage, hard-hit rate and average exit velocity (Baseball Savant). That should translate into Tuesday’s outing against an inconsistent Athletics lineup that he’s seen success against in the past.

On the other side, Luis Severino has been a bit up-and-down in terms of recent performance, but his expected metrics suggest that he’s due for a bit of regression in his upcoming starts. Furthermore, Severino has been excellent on the road this season, surrendering just 3 runs over 24.2 innings pitched away from home this season. All things considered, let’s back the Under in the first 5 innings in Detroit on Tuesday.
