As usual on a Thursday, we have a quiet day in MLB with just 6 games on the docket. However, that is still more than enough ammo for us to craft an MLB parlay for today’s action. There are a number of solid matchups to look forward to, including Mets vs Phillies, Yankees vs Twins and Reds vs Dodgers. Our MLB experts have been solid with their MLB picks lately, going 11-6 over the past 2 days, so make sure you check out our predictions on the side and total for today’s games. But for now, let’s dive into my best MLB parlay picks for Thursday, May 16, 2024.

Phillies -1.5 (+142)

A’s -1.5 (+274)

Dodgers -1.5 (-155)

MLB parlay odds: +1389

Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 over New York Mets (+142)

The Philadelphia Phillies have been the best team in baseball so far in this young season. Today they get to take on a struggling Mets team that has won just 3 of their last 10 games. This Phillies lineup should have no problem against Jose Quintana (5.44 ERA). In the past 10 games, Philadelphia has batted an OPS of .805 and a batting average of .275, while Quintana’s statcast metrics rate from average to poor in just about all categories. His xBA is especially poor at .317, ranking in the bottom 2% of all pitchers. New York’s bats do boast an OPS of .626 and batting average of .216, which is slightly below average, and it is unlikely they will be able to keep up with the hottest team in MLB right now. We’re starting our MLB parlay with the Phillies -1.5.

Oakland A’s -1.5 over Houston Astros (+274)

It’s time to really crank up the odds on this MLB parlay as we go with the A’s -1.5 on the alternate run line. Now, hear me out on this one. First off, rookie pitcher Joey Estes showed his potential in his debut against the Mariners, where he went 5 innings and allowed just 2 hits and 1 earned run, while securing 5 strikeouts. If he is able to put in a similar game here, then there will be hope for the A’s. On the batting side of things, they’ve proven they can light it up at times, as shown when they hung 20 runs on the Marlins a couple of weeks ago. The Astros have struggled mightily for rhythm this season and at these odds, I can see the A’s pulling the upset. Let’s shoot for the moon with this pick in our MLB parlay.

Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 over Cincinnati Reds (-155)

From one longshot to a safe pick, we’re rounding off our MLB parlay by taking the Dodgers -1.5. The Reds are finding things very tough right now after a solid start to the season and yesterday was only able to muster 3 hits. Now they must take on a vicious Los Angeles team that is beginning to build momentum as Shohei Ohtani finds his groove alongside Mookie Betts. On the mound for Cincinnati will be Brent Suter, who has primarily been a reliever, while the Dodgers will have Tyler Glasnow toeing the rubber with their starter winning 7 of 9 games this season. Of those 7 victories, 6 of them came by 2 runs or more. Let’s roll with the Dodgers -1.5 to cap off our MLB parlay picks at +1389 odds.
