MLB YRFI/NRFI Picks, Predictions & Best Bets for Wednesday, 7/2 - Aaron Judge delivers in Yankees vs Blue Jays

New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge (99) is congratulated by pitching coach Matt Blake (67) as he rounds the bases after hitting home run #62 to break the American League home run record in the first inning against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field.

The week in Major League Baseball continues with an outrageous 19-game schedule on Wednesday. That’s right; a full slate plus 4 postponements and suspensions due to weather bring us a smorgasbord of betting opportunities on this schedule. The YRFI/NRFI market is extremely popular in baseball betting. After all, you don’t have to sit around for 3 hours to see if your wager hits; the satisfaction (or in some cases disappointment) is immediate. It all comes down to the first inning. I have been in fine form so far this season, with a 45-33-2 record on best bets while going 4-for-9 on Same Game Parlays at +481, +632, +439 and +600 odds and 7-3 on YRFI/NRFI plays. Here are my favorite YRFI/NRFI bets for Wednesday, and also be sure to check out all of our MLB picks after our experts went 62-30 for +46.6 units last week!

YRFI/NRFI best bet: Yankees vs Blue Jays – YRFI (-104)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing

A run being scored early has great appeal in this YRFI/NRFI market. Jose Berrios is taking the mound on Wednesday, which is normally good news for Toronto. Unfortunately for Berrios, Aaron Judge is 14-for-37 lifetime against him with 5 home runs, 2 doubles and 5 walks; Cody Bellinger is 4-for-6 with a homer and 2 walks. New York scored twice in the first inning of Tuesday’s showdown and it has a great chance of putting at least 1 on the board during the opening frame today.

The Yankees are countering with Will Warren, who comes in with a 4.37 ERA and 1.32 WHIP. He surrendered 2 first-inning runs to Baltimore a couple of starts ago and gave up 3 runs in the first 3 innings to the Angels right before that. In other words, getting out of the gates has been a struggle for him of late. The O’s have scored a ridiculous 42 runs in their last 5 games, so Warren could be in trouble early and often on Wednesday.

YRFI/NRFI best bet: Giants vs Diamondbacks – NRFI (-120)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing

Look for the bats to be much quieter when the Giants and Diamondbacks collide in Arizona. This projects to be a nice pitching matchup between Landen Roupp of the G-Men and Merrill Kelly of the Snakes. Roupp comes in with a 3.43 ERA and has not allowed a single earned run in his past 2 starts across 11.1 innings; Kelly is sporting a 3.49 ERA and 1.07 WHIP after compiling a 2.79 ERA in June.

San Francisco has crossed the plate a grand total of 6 times during its current 4-game losing streak. Leadoff batter Mike Yastrzemski is 9-for-43 lifetime against Kelly and Rafael Devers is 1-for-9. Nobody on Arizona’s active roster has gotten more than 1 hit all time off Roupp, so there is little to no familiarity with him in that matchup. The NRFI cashed in each of the first 2 contests of this series and I expect more of the same on Wednesday night as the second of my YRFI/NRFI best bets.
