NHL pick today: Florida Panthers vs Detroit Red Wings – Over 6.5 goals (-130), 7:07 pm ET

Florida will likely have no trouble securing the win as the road team, but we expect this game to be high-scoring. Florida has scored at least 4 goals in 4 straight games, averaging over 5 goals per game. The Panthers offense is cooking, so they should have no trouble when playing against a weak defensive team in Detroit.

Detroit gives up 3.13 goals per game, which ranks them 11th-worst in the NHL. The 4th-best offense in Florida will likely surpass their 3.5 goals per game average and fill the Red Wings’ net. Florida is not much better defensively than Detroit, giving up 3.12 goals per game. For that reason, backing the over will be the play.

NBA pick today: Chicago Bulls +8 over Philadelphia 76ers (-110), 7:10 pm ET

It promises to be an epic battle tonight at Wells Fargo Center as the Chicago Bulls come to town to take on the Philadelphia 76ers. With 4 wins in their last 5 games, Chicago has taken over 10th place in the East with a 1.5-game advantage over the Indiana Pacers. The recent play of DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic has elevated the Bulls to new heights, which could help them to hang around in this game tonight.

NBA pick today: Golden State Warriors vs Houston Rockets – Over 238 points (-110), 8:10 pm ET

The last 2 meetings between these teams have been surprisingly low-scoring, with just 221 and 217 points scored. However, the game played at Toyota Center in mid-November produced 247 points and with the way the Warriors defense has performed lately I’m expecting a game that’s closer to that number.

The Warriors’ last 3 opponents have put up 133, 127 and 134 points, granted the Rockets aren’t on the level of either Memphis, Atlanta and the Clippers, but when you don’t play any defense you’ll get punished even if it’s Houston on the other side. The over has cashed in 6 of the last 7 games for the Warriors, plus they’re 26-9-1 on the O/U in games played away from home. For that reason, backing the over will be the play.

NHL pick today: Edmonton Oilers -1.5 over San Jose Sharks (-145), 9:30 pm ET

It’s no surprise that the Oilers are significant favorites on home ice, but there’s simply no reason to have any faith in the Sharks. San Jose even knows that, considering they shipped off superstar Timo Meier at the trade deadline, making their already weak team even worse.

Tonight they face Connor McDavid and the Oilers, who are the highest-scoring team in the NHL. The last matchup between these teams saw the Oilers win 7-1, so backing a result similar will be our best bet tonight.
