Show Bio

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. The Brooklyn Nets visit the Phoenix Suns tonight with both teams looking to put an end to 3-game losing streaks. They are both currently facing very similar challenges. With Kevin Durant and Devin Booker both out with injuries, neither team will have the services of their leading scorers. While Kyrie Irving is likely to shoulder the scoring load for the visitors, the home team does not have a clear second option. It should make for an intriguing matchup to see which player on the Suns will assume that role.

Check out the Same Game Parlay I have put together for the game below. Be sure to take a look at the rest of our NBA picks, too.

Deandre Ayton 14+ rebounds (+290)

Mikal Bridges to score 20+ points (+180)

Parlay odds: +894

Deandre Ayton 14+ rebounds (+290)

Over the last 10 games the Brooklyn Nets are 24th in the league in opponent rebounds per game. Tonight Deandre Ayton should be the one collecting the majority of these. He will be up against Nic Claxton, which should prove to be a favourable matchup. The Nets center will be giving up a considerable weight advantage to Ayton, allowing the Suns’ center to dominate in the paint. With Claxton not being able to stretch the floor, Ayton will likely be in prime rebounding position throughout the night.

Ayton is in the top 20 in the league in offensive rebounds per game and should be able to utilise his size here to further improve on those numbers. That should put him in a great position to record at least 14 rebounds. He has been able to reach that mark in 2 of his 6 games of 2023 so far with tonight likely being more of the same. The Nets’ offense may be less efficient without Durant in the fold, so expect there to be more defensive boards for Ayton to chase down.

Mikal Bridges to score 20+ points (+180)

With Booker out for the Suns, they have needed someone on the wing to step up and fill the scoring void. That man has been Mikal Bridges. He has been able to record 20 or more points in 3 of his last 4 games. He is close to a 90% shooter from the line this season and should benefit from going up against a Nets team that is 22nd in the league in opponent free-throw attempts per game. With Ayton occupying Claxton in the paint, he should encounter less resistance on his drives to the rim too.

The return of Chris Paul tonight could be a further boost for Bridges. Paul is questionable to play but did practice yesterday. His involvement could take more defensive attention away from Bridges while providing the forward with a playmaker that can help him get to his spots. Look for Bridges to put together another strong scoring night as a result.
