Mavericks vs Nuggets point spread pick: Nuggets -5 (-108)
The Mavericks are coming off an impressive win over the Suns and are now tasked with traveling to Denver to take on the Nuggets for their second game in as many days. Given the tough scheduling spot for the Mavericks, look for Denver to capitalize on the rest and home-court advantage. The Mavericks were able to handle a shorthanded Suns team last night, cruising to an easy victory. However, the primary issue for the Mavs that continues to cause problems is the lack of support for Luka Doncic. Doncic is leading the league in points per game but the rest of the team hasn’t done much to support him, which has caused them to lose a bunch of tight games.
The fact that this game is being played on the second night of a back-to-back hurts Dallas because their bench production and depth will be tested more so than it would on normal rest. The Nuggets are also looking to rebound from a couple of tough losses in their past few games, so returning home to play a tired Dallas team is a great recipe for them to get back on track. Nikola Jokic leads a dangerous Denver scoring attack that ranks 5th in offensive rating, so look for them to pour on the points and cruise to a victory on their home floor.

The over looks the best option in this game. The Nuggets have a terrific offense led by Nikola Jokic, as they rank 5th in offensive rating and 12th in points per game. The return of Jamal Murray this season has also been a huge boost to their offense, as he motors the offense and presents another lethal perimeter shooter. The Mavericks have a solid defense, but this strength should be weakened by the fact that this is their second game in as many days.
However, the Mavs should be able to keep pace offensively as Luka Doncic has been the leading scorer in the league this season and there doesn’t seem to be any defense that can slow him down. This should end up being a high-scoring game.
