NBA Milwaukee Bucks vs LA Lakers Predictions, Odds, Spreads & Betting Lines: Giannis leads the Bucks to victory

Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (34) moves the ball against Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James (6) during the second half at Crypto.com Arena.

Fresh from breaking the NBA’s all-time scoring record, LeBron James must regroup as he and the LA Lakers host the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night. Despite breaking the record, LeBron and the Lakers actually lost their last game to the Thunder and are in desperate need of a bounce-back. However, in their way is a resilient Bucks team led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, with Milwaukee looking like serious NBA championship contenders once again. Who will come out on top? Our NBA expert has picks, predictions and best bets for this huge Bucks vs Lakers game, so let’s dive in.

Milwaukee Bucks vs LA Lakers prediction

James continues to be the heart and soul of this Lakers team, but it still hasn’t been enough with LA struggling. The Lakers have just traded for D’Angelo Russell so clearly aren’t ready to give up on the season yet, but this mountain may be too high to climb with Milwaukee looking red-hot right now. Giannis continues to play excellent basketball and even with the game in front of LA’s fans, the Bucks should be able to secure the victory.

Milwaukee Bucks vs LA Lakers expert picks

We’ve got 2 standout NBA picks for tonight’s game between the Mavericks and Clippers.

Bucks vs Lakers point spread pick: Bucks -6 (-110)

The red-hot Milwaukee Bucks are headed to crypto.com Arena in hopes of winning their 9th game in a row this evening. Right now they’re the hottest team in the NBA, the offense has been clicking during the win streak as they’ve scored 120+ points 6 times in 8 games, while shooting over 50% from the field. Giannis alone scored 50+ twice over his last 4 outings, and against the defensively challenged Lakers he could dominate once again. The good news for the Bucks is also that Khris Middleton will be playing, he’s been slowly getting back into his groove following a long layoff due to injury. His contribution towards the end of the regular season and in the playoffs will be key for a title run. Bucks are 9-3 SU in the last 12 meetings with LA.

It was a historic night for the Lakers and Lebron James on Tuesday as the King became the all-time leading scorer, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Lebron was able to score 38 points in the game, but it wasn’t enough as the OKC Thunder put another big dent in the Lakers playoff hopes with a 133-130 victory. It was the 2nd game in a row the Lakers conceded over 130 points, the defense is just not there right now. Russell Westbrook has been traded away, LA got D’Angelo Russell back from Minnesota, but he won’t be making his debut just yet. Not having Westbrook around in itself is a positive for the team, so I’m interested to see how they respond in tonight’s game.

Anthony Davis had a monster game in the first meeting of the season at Fiserv Forum, won by the Lakers 133-129. This is a different Bucks team though, they are on a huge run right now and the Lakers are just not on their level right now to compete. Back Milwaukee to cover.

Bucks vs Lakers Over/Under totals pick: Over 239.5 (-110)

I’ve touched on the Lakers defensive woes already, they’ve allowed 120+ points in 4 of their last 5 games which is why the total has cashed on the over 4 times in their last 6 games. I’m not expecting a lot of defense to be shown in tonight’s game either, this team is only 21st in defensive efficiency while also playing the 6th fastest pace in the NBA.

Milwaukee isn’t far behind in pace, they average 102.6 possessions per game which puts them only 4 spots below the Lakers. Unlike the Lakers though, they have the offensive numbers to back it up. Antetokounmpo has averaged 37.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, and 5.4 assists during the Bucks’ winning streak, he had 40 points already against the Lakers this season. I’m expecting him to have his way here as LA doesn’t have any defenders on the team capable of slowing him down. The last 2 meetings finished with 262 and 247 point scored, I’ll be backing the over in this one.
