Show Bio

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. The Phoenix Suns find themselves in a bit of a rut of late, with just 2 wins from their last 10 games. With Devin Booker, Chris Paul and Cameron Johnson remaining out, they are severely lacking firepower. It does not help them that tonight they will be taking on a Memphis Grizzlies team that is incredibly hot at the moment. Two of the Suns’ last 4 games have ended in double-digit losses and they will be hoping to avoid the same fate today. Before jumping into my Suns vs Grizzlies Same Game Parlay, check out our NBA predictions for all of today’s matchups.

Deandre Ayton under 17.5 points (-102)

The Phoenix Suns have been struggling without their stars so they would have welcomed the return of Deandre Ayton after a 2-game absence. However, without Chris Paul feeding him the ball, the Suns center struggled. He managed just 11 inefficient points on his return against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and that should carry over to tonight’s game against the Grizzlies.

Steven Adams is a tough matchup for Ayton. The Grizzlies center has the physical tools to keep Ayton from establishing a deep post position. If he limits Ayton to contested mid-range jumpers, it’s tough to see the Suns man putting together a good game here. Ayton makes just over 40% of his shots from 10-14 feet. The Grizzlies have been dominant of late and I expect this game to be a blowout, which could also cut into his minutes here too. With Ja Morant relentlessly driving to the rim, that could also happen through foul trouble.

Memphis Grizzlies -19.5 over Phoenix Suns (+265)

The Grizzlies have been incredibly dominant lately. The team is currently riding a 9-game winning streak, the longest one in the NBA. They have been winning those games by an average of 11.9 points. The Suns’ points differential is -11 during that stretch, with only the Houston Rockets with a worse mark. With a win tonight, the Grizzlies would also have the joint-best home record along with the Denver Nuggets.

Over the last 10 games, the Grizzlies have had the league’s best defense in terms of defensive rating. Going up against a Suns team that is 29th in offensive rating could quickly make this a very one-sided encounter. The Suns have been very turnover prone without Paul. They are 29th in opponent points off turnovers during that same stretch. With a player as dynamic as Morant up against them, the Grizzlies should have no problem converting those to quick scores. I expect them to absolutely dominate as a result.
