Since graduating from Davidson (The College That Stephen Curry Built), I have been writing about sports -- just about any and all you can think of! -- and coaching tennis in Atlanta, GA. NFL Divisional Round opening lines and odds

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing

  • San Francisco 49ers +7 (-105) vs Seattle Seahawks -7 (-115) – Saturday
  • Buffalo Bills -1.5 (-105) vs Denver Broncos +1.5 (-115) – Saturday
  • Los Angeles Rams -3.5 (-112) vs Chicago Bears +3.5 (-108) – Sunday
  • Houston Texans +2.5 (-104) vs New England Patriots -2.5 (-118) – Sunday

Best bet for the Divisional Round: Houston Texans vs New England Patriots Under 41.5 (-110)

As expected, both defenses were incredible during Super Wild Card Weekend. New England held the Chargers to just 3 points on Sunday; Houston gave up only 6 points to Pittsburgh on Monday. Both teams forced 2 turnovers. The Patriots came up with 6 sacks, while the Texans took down Aaron Rodgers 4 times. This is nothing new, either – especially for the Texans. In the regular season they were #1 in total defense, #2 in scoring defense, #6 against the pass, #3 in interceptions and #6 in sacks.

On the other side of the ball, don’t be fooled by Houston’s 30 points against the Steelers. The Texans’ offense was horrible almost the entire game and 2 of the team’s TDs were scored by the defense. Moreover, wide receiver Nico Collins may be sidelined by a concussion. Meanwhile, New England scored a mere 16 points in its wild-card game. Count on defense dominating this matchup from start to finish. I really don’t see either team getting to the 20-point mark on Sunday.
