Get your popcorn ready for Sunday Night Football in Week 17 of the NFL season. The fourth of five days that feature NFL action this week concludes with the Atlanta Falcons visiting the Washington Commanders. It is a Texas-sized matchup for both the Falcons and Commanders. At 8-7, Atlanta is trying to hold off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC South; at 10-5, Washington is hoping to either solidify its wild-card spot or gain ground on the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC South.
Here are my best player prop bets for SNF, and also be sure to check out our full Falcons vs Commanders predictions.
Bijan Robinson, RB, ATL Over 83.5 rushing yards (-114 at FanDuel)
The market has not adjusted to Robinson’s recent outburst, so we have another great opportunity to hammer the over on his rushing total for Sunday’s date with Washington. Atlanta’s RB1 has racked up at least 92 rushing yards in 4 straight games and has gained at least 86 in 6 of the last 7. He has exceeded this 83.5 quota in 8 of the last 10. Robinson is now going up against a Commanders defense that ranks #29 in the league against the run, surrendering 137.4 ground yards per game on 4.8 yards per attempt. It’s also worth noting that quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is a rookie who is making just his second career start. The Falcons can be expected to pound the rock with Robinson, and he has every reason to make that a worthwhile investment.
Terry McLaurin, WR, WAS Over 63.5 receiving yards (-115 at Bet365)
McLaurin is simply on fire right now. Much of his hot streak is in the department of touchdowns, with 6 in the last 4 contests to give him 12 in total for the 2024 campaign. However, he has also been racking up plenty of yards. The Ohio State product has gained at least 73 yards in 3 of the last 4 games, with the only exception during this stretch coming when he caught 5 of 6 targets for 60 yards and a TD last week against the Philadelphia Eagles. McLaurin has exceeded this modest 63.5 quota in 8 of the last 12 outings. He now faces a Falcons defense that ranks #21 in the NFL against the pass and is dead last in sacks. Jayden Daniels should have plenty of time to operate, giving McLaurin all the more reason to be productive on Sunday Night Football.
