NFL pick today: Kansas City Chiefs -9 over Jacksonville Jaguars (-110), 4:30 pm ET

The Chiefs actually finished 7-10 against the spread and were just 3-5 ATS at home this season. It drove bettors mad early on in the season, but taking the opposition to cover against them at home soon became the trend to follow. However, as the season progressed, the Chiefs offense hit another gear and in matchups against struggling defenses like the Rams, Seahawks and Raiders, not only did they cover, but they covered spreads ranging from 8.5-15.5 points. The Chiefs have more offensive firepower to take command of this game, therefore backing the Chiefs to cover will be the play.

College Basketball pick today: Alabama Crimson Tide -4.5 over Missouri Tigers (-110), 6:00 pm ET

The Crimson Tide are 4-1 ATS on the road this year and have played in some tough environments already, including at Houston. Alabama enters this game as the number one offense and defense in SEC play, according to KenPom, and they match up very well with Missouri. On the offensive end, Alabama should be able to create several second-chance opportunities with their 29th-ranked offensive rebounding rate.

Missouri owns the seventh-lowest offensive rebounding rate in the country, per KenPom. Often times offensive rebounds lead to kick-out threes, where Alabama ranks first in SEC play in three-point percentage. On the other end, Missouri ranks sixth nationally in field goal percentage at the rim, but this is negated by Alabama’s ranking of third in field goal percentage defense. The path to points is much clearer for the Crimson Tide, so expect to see them cover this evening.

NHL pick today: San Jose Sharks 3-Way ML over Columbus Blue Jackets (+115), 7:07 pm ET

As bad as San Jose has been this year, the Columbus Blue Jackets are on a whole other level. After going up 3-0 in their last game to the Anaheim Ducks, they suffered 5 straight goals and lost 5-3. It’s one thing to blow a 3-0 lead, but it’s another to do it against Anaheim. Columbus is also ranked 32nd on the power play and 30th in goals for and against per game. In short, not only can they not score goals, but they can’t defend.

It’s always tough to trust a bad hockey team to win on the road, but Columbus is just that bad. San Jose can easily take care of business in regulation.

NBA pick today: Phoenix Suns -5.5 over Indiana Pacers (-110), 9:10 pm ET

The Suns are still waiting on Chris Paul, Devin Booker, Cameron Payne and Landry Shamet to return from injuries, but the recent win over Brooklyn will be a major confidence booster ahead of tonight’s game. Home form is another thing this team will be clinging on ahead of tonight’s game, they’ve won 15 of 22 games at Footprint Center.

Both teams are severally shorthanded here, but I have to give the home team the edge. They have the rest advantage as Indiana played last night and had to travel in between games. Phoenix has to start winning before they completely drop out of the playoff picture in the West. For that reason, backing the Suns to cover tonight will be the play.
