Let’s break down each of these plays.
College Football pick today: Michigan State Spartans vs Maryland Terrapins – Over 57.5 points (-110), 3:30 pm ET
Michigan State’s defense has had the luxury of playing a majority of its games at home to start the season. At home, the Spartans have given up 15.5 points a game. In their lone away game this season, they surrendered 39 points to Washington.
On the other side, Maryland’s offense has been the strength of their team, while the defense hasn’t been stellar. The Terrapins’ defense has given up 27 points in their last two games against the toughest opponents they faced this year. That is a similar situation to what Michigan State had when giving up points to stronger opponents. Maryland is also 4-0 to the over in its last four games following a straight up loss, and they fell to Michigan week. For that reason, backing the over will be the play.

College Football pick today: Arkansas Razorbacks +17 over Alabama Crimson Tide (-110), 3:30 pm ET
It’s the biggest SEC matchup of the year so far, and Arkansas is looking for revenge after losing to Alabama by a touchdown in Tuscaloosa last year. The Razorbacks are much more battle-tested as 3 of their 4 opponents were either ranked or a Power 5 team. Alabama has played Texas and Vanderbilt along with 2 non-Power-5 schools. Had Arkansas pulled out a win last week, they would have risen close to the top 5 in the AP Poll and this line would look different. There’s some value with the Razorbacks.

MLB pick today: Cleveland Guardians ML over Kansas City Royals (-190), 6:10 pm ET
Cleveland has been one of the hottest teams over the last month and a half, and Kansas City has been one of the worst teams in baseball all season. Such great performances recently have allowed the Guardians to secure the AL Central title, and they’re currently building momentum going into the postseason. That should continue against the Royals, just as it had most of the year. Cleveland had won 8 of the last 11 meetings against KC heading into this series. For that reason, expect a convincing win from Cleveland on Saturday.
