EPL pick today: West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur – Both teams to score – Yes (-135), 11:30 am ET

The Hammers have not won in 9 road games, but should be confident in at least finding the net. They tend to raise their game for big matches – their last two outings would fit into that bracket – and this one means more to their fans than any other. With Tottenham’s strengths undoubtedly in the final third, despite Heung-Min Son’s indifferent form, it should be a game that features a fair number of goals and we can expect both teams to contribute to the overall tally.

XFL pick today: St. Louis Battlehawks -3 over San Antonio Brahmas (-125), 2:00 pm ET

The St Louis Battlehawks take on the San Antonio Brahmas in the Alamodome to kick off their XFL season. The Battlehawks are up against a team with no XFL experience and a head coach who has never coached before. The Battlehawks also have some notable talent, which includes former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron. For that reason, backing the Battlehawks and their experience against the new Brahmas team will be the play.

NHL pick today: Toronto Maple Leafs -1.5 over Chicago Blackhawks (-120), 6:00 pm ET

In one of the more lopsided matchups we could possibly set up, it’s difficult to support anything but a convincing Maple Leafs win this evening. They’ll be going into Chicago on the second game of a back-to-back but with guys like Auston Matthews, William Nylander, John Tavares and Mitch Marner, there’s really no concern with that situation.

It also helps that they’re facing arguably the worst team in hockey. They may be 1 point ahead of the Columbus Blue Jackets for the NHL’s worst record, but their play has just been abysmal. Meanwhile, the Leafs would be leading either of the Western Conference divisions, and they’re only not leading theirs because of how incredible the Boston Bruins have been. Regardless, they should have no problem keeping Chicago in check, as they allow the 6th-fewest goals per game on the road. Because of the gap in talent between these teams, backing the Maple Leafs will be the play.

XFL pick today: Seattle Sea Dragons -2.5 over DC Defenders (-110), 8:00 pm ET

The first weekend of the 2023 XFL season will wrap up with a nightcap on Sunday between the DC Defenders and Seattle Sea Dragons. The Defenders are going to start former Ole Miss quarterback Jordan Ta’amu, and when the XFL was around in 2020 he struggled down the stretch after a good first couple of games. He threw only 1 touchdown pass across his final 3 contests as defenses appeared to have figured him out.

Seattle on the other hand, will start Ben DiNucci at quarterback, who has NFL regular-season starting experience, which is more than most guys in this league can say. He’s also got some exciting talent at the skill positions at his disposal, including one of the biggest names in the league in Josh Gordon. Seattle also has some notable names on defense, including linebacker Jordan Evans. Because the Sea Dragons have what looks to be a much better roster, backing them to cover will be the play.
