NHL pick today: Anaheim Ducks vs Boston Bruins – Over 6.5 goals (-120), 7:05 pm ET

The total has gone over in all 4 Boston games so far with the Bruins doing the majority of the legwork. The over has also been trendy early on for the Ducks as the over has hit in 3 of their 4 games. Twice the Ducks have scored 4 goals which has certainly helped bring the game over the total. But it is their NHL second-to-worst ranked goal prevention that has been the primary driver behind the over hitting in their games.

That matchup between Boston’s rampant scoring and Anaheim’s inability to minimize damage bodes well for the over as much as it does for the Bruins overall. The Bruins just gave up 7 goals on Tuesday indicating some sloppiness in goal prevention, as well. For that reason, the over looks to be the best option for this game tonight.

College Football pick today: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets -3 over Virginia Cavaliers (-110), 7:30 pm ET

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets look to continue their impressive play in conference on Thursday night when they welcome in the Virginia Cavaliers. Virginia’s defense hasn’t been great, but its offense has been absolutely atrocious. The Wahoos have scored more than 20 points just once this season and that was all the way back in Week 1 against Richmond.

Georgia Tech appears to have figured something out in recent weeks, as they own a perfect 3-0 record ATS in their last 3 games. Virginia struggles to stop the run (90th in FBS), and Georgia Tech should take full advantage of that considering that’s the strength of their offense. For that reason, backing the Yellow Jackets will be the play.

NBA pick today: Milwaukee Bucks +4 over Philadelphia 76ers (-105), 7:30 pm ET

For the second time in their first couple of games the 76ers are in a standalone TV spot. This time they are at home against the Bucks and favored. Milwaukee is a tough matchup for Philly. The Bucks have the size to give themselves a chance of neutralizing Joel Embiid, and Giannis Antetokounmpo is Giannis. Philly does not really have a great counter to him on defense, even with PJ Tucker now in the fold. Milwaukee won twice at Philadelphia last season and can do it again in its season opener. But taking the Bucks and the points is the safer play.

NFL pick today: New Orleans Saints +2.5 over Arizona Cardinals (-105), 8:15 pm ET

The Saints continue to be underrated in the market, as they sit 2nd in the NFL in net success rate. The good news is at least they get Chris Olave back this Thursday. Andy Dalton has also been just fine, even with his limited weapons.

The Cardinals are 6-13 ATS and 7-12 straight up at home since the beginning of 2020. They have lost 8 straight home games as well. Kliff Kingsbury is a really bad coach; we can all see that. Case in point: the Cardinals are also 0-4 straight up and ATS on a short week under Kingsbury. That includes 3 of the 4 instances where the Cardinals were favored and all 3 home games were when they were favored and they lost them all straight up. For that reason, backing the Saints to cover will be the play.
