EPL pick today: Brighton +0.5 over Newcastle United (-130), 2:30 pm ET

Brighton all but ended Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes with a fantastic display on Sunday and the Seagulls can put a dent in Newcastle’s top-4 ambitions this afternoon. These teams played out a goalless game earlier this season and Brighton has lost just once in the teams’ last 11 meetings. For that reason, backing Brighton to win or draw will be our play.

MLB pick today: Toronto Blue Jays ML over New York Yankees (-130), 7:07 pm ET

The Yankees have been wildly inconsistent on offense this entire year and tonight they face Jose Berrios who’s been great as of late. Berrios had a rough start to the season, but has given up 2 or fewer runs in 5 of his last 6 starts.

Nestor Cortes on the other hand, will start for the Yankees, but he hasn’t found much success recently. Cortes is 3-2 but has a 5.53 ERA and has given up 6 or more runs in 2 of his last 3 starts. Because Berrios is on a much better run than Cortes recently, backing the more dependable Blue Jays’ offense will be our play to win.

NHL pick today: Carolina Hurricanes ML over Florida Panthers (-146), 8:05 pm ET

The Florida Panthers travel to Carolina to take on the Hurricanes in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals tonight.

Carolina’s Frederik Andersen is 5-0-0 in the playoffs with a 1.80 GAA and a .931 SV%. The Canes are good at playing defense and limiting shots, but even when the opposing team has a chance to score, they can’t get much past Andersen. Because Carolina have a great penalty kill and have the 2nd-best goals against per game, backing them to win Game 1 will be our play.

NBA pick today: Los Angeles Lakers +5.5 over Denver Nuggets (-108), 8:30 pm ET

Although the Lakers lost Game 1, they were down by 21 at one point in the game and fought all the way back where they got it as close as 3 late in the 4th quarter. The key for the Lakers in Game 2 should be to stay aggressive and disrupt Nikola Jokic or possibly get him in foul trouble. Because of the fight they showed in Game 1 to make it a close game, backing the Lakers against the spread will be our play for tonight.
