What a glorious day for sports fans! NFL action will occur all day with no teams on byes, and the first Sunday of the NBA season is here. You know where to find our NFL player props but let’s also dive into my favorite NBA player prop bet for Sunday, October 29.

Scoot Henderson (POR) Under 23.5 points + rebounds + assists (-111)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Don’t get me wrong, Scoot Henderson will be a star in the league, but he has struggled to start his NBA career. Through his first two games, Henderson has turned the ball over 9 times – tied for 10th-most in the association. He’s 8 for 23 from the field and has attempted only 1 free throw. Henderson and the Trail Blazers will have their hands full against the defensive-minded Philadelphia 76ers, who come in as 9.5-point favorites in their season opener. Good luck, Scoot.

With Anfernee Simons sidelined for a handful of months, Henderson will be leaned upon much more. I don’t think that time is now, though. He’ll get more looks and be more aggressive, but he still needs to show me enough to back him. The adjustment from the G League to the NBA is no joke, and against a 76ers team that plays slowly, I’m projecting Henderson to struggle. He can potentially pick apart the 76ers in the pick-and-roll game, as Damian Lillard did, but he’s averaging just 2 pick-and-roll possessions through his first 2 games. I’m sure there will be times when I back Henderson later down the line, but I’m fading him tonight.
