After a relatively quiet weekend in the NBA, Martin Luther King Jr. Day brings us a mouthwatering 11-game slate, which in turn provides us with plenty of NBA player prop bet opportunities. Let’s dive into my favorite NBA player props for Monday, January 15, and be sure to also read our NBA picks for today’s biggest games.

Jalen Suggs (ORL) over 1.5 threes made (-115)

Odds available at BetMGM at time of publishing. Recommended 1u wager.

The Orlando Magic have a franchise cornerstone in starting guard Jalen Suggs and along with being well-known for his defensive prowess, he has stepped it up as an offensive player this season. That is not properly reflected in this line, most likely because he is coming off back-to-back quiet shooting nights. On the season, Suggs has averaged 2.4 made threes per game on 5.8 attempts per 30 minutes with Paolo Banchero starting. Now, with high-usage offensive player Franz Wagner out in a matchup against a Knicks defense that improved their isolation defense with the addition of OG Anunoby, Suggs is going to have to shoot plenty to complement the defensive attention drawn to Banchero. Although the Knicks have been stingy against the three-ball since the trade, this line still should not be pick’em and we project Suggs for 5 attempts in this game, giving this bet great value.

Kristaps Porzingis (BOS) over 1.5 threes made (-121)

Line available at Caesars Sportsbook at time of publishing. Recommended 1u wager.

This is the ultimate buy-low on one of the most reliable volume shooters in the league. The Celtics’ starting center has cleared this line in only 1 of his last 5 games but on the season, he averages 1.6 made threes on 5.1 attempts per 30 minutes when Boston’s #1-option, Jayson Tatum, plays. Now, Porzingis draws a soft matchup against a Raptors defense that has given up the 3rd-most above-the-break threes made per game since they changed their lineup via trade for RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley. We will gladly bet on regression to the mean in this spot.
