I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. As usual, the weekend NHL action did not disappoint, whether it was Auston Matthews continuing his magical goal-scoring season or the shootout thriller between two of the league’s best in the Florida Panthers and New York Rangers. With just 2 games on the slate to begin our new week, we’re going to focus on the individual skater performances, as we’ve found a great spot in both matchups for our NHL prop bet picks to help make it an exciting night even with just a couple games to watch. We’re on a HUGE 17-3 run with our NHL player props so let’s keep that momentum going! Along with our best NHL player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Jonathan Marchessault over 3.5 shots on goal (+125)

Odds available at time of publishing. Playable to +110.

The first game of the night takes place in St. Louis with the Blues hosting the defending Stanley Cup-champion Vegas Golden Knights. Both teams were able to grab wins on Saturday as they both continued working towards avoiding being a Wild Card team. Rather than worrying about who is going to win tonight’s matchup, we have our eyes on Jonathan Marchessault. When it comes to putting the puck in the net, it’s all about him and Jack Eichel.

We saw Eichel record 8 shots on goal en route to 2 goals on Saturday night, and tonight is Marchessault’s turn. After all, he has been the one to thrive against the Blues, recording 4 or more shots on goal in 5 of his last 7 games against them. That includes 10 across 2 meetings this year, and St. Louis is currently allowing the 6th-most goals per game. Therefore, we’re starting our NHL prop bet picks with Jonathan Marchessault to record at least 4 shots on goal.

JT Miller over 0.5 assists (+110)

Odds available at time of publishing. Playable to -110.

We’ve got another “J” skater tonight, but this time one on the Vancouver Canucks. They have had an incredible year-to-year turnaround and will be looking to break the 100-point barrier this season. That puts them in contention for the Presidents’ Trophy, and one of the primary reasons that they’re in this position is the play of JT Miller. Speaking of the century mark, he will almost certainly break the 100-point mark this season, so it’s safe to say that he’s had an incredible year thus far.

We expect that to continue tonight in Los Angeles against the Kings. This is a team Miller has loved facing, especially when it comes to setting up his teammates. Starting in 2019, he had a stretch of 9 straight games with at least 1 assist against them, and while that has since come to an end due to scoring a goal instead, he has still had a point in 13 of his last 14 games against LA. That includes an assist against them less than a month ago, so another JT Miller helper is how we’re closing out our NHL prop bet picks.
