I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. With fewer than 10 games left in the 2023-24 NHL regular season, the Stanley Cup playoffs will be here before we know it. While we already have several teams that have clinched postseason berths, there is still plenty to be decided. In fact, our best NHL prop bet picks for today are focused on 2 skaters that are on teams in contention for not only division titles, but the Presidents’ Trophy. With such pivotal games on deck, let’s get right into our NHL prop bet picks for today, Along with our best NHL player props, you can also check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Vincent Trocheck (NYR) over 0.5 assists (+115)

Odds available at time of publishing. Playable to -105.

Of the 2 top teams involved in our NHL prop bet picks, there is one from each conference, and the first of which is the New York Rangers. They’ve been fantastic all season, including as of late, but they’re coming off a rare loss during their 7-3-0 run over the last 10 games. They’ll be back on home ice in Madison Square Garden, and we expect Vincent Trocheck to lead the way against a New Jersey Devils team that has had quite a letdown season after a great year in 2022-23.

Their struggles have primarily been due to goaltending, as they’re allowing the 6th-most goals per game this season. The Rangers have several elite goalscorers like Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad, which means great skaters for Trocheck to link up with. That’s exactly what he’s done against the Devils this season, recording 6 points in 3 games against them. Of those 6 points, 4 were assists, so that is the first target of our NHL prop bet picks for today.

JT Miller (VAN) over 0.5 assists (-110)

Odds available at time of publishing. Playable to -125.

The other team we referenced is the Vancouver Canucks, who have been having the year-to-year turnaround the Devils experienced last season. Their offense has been a juggernaut all year, largely due to 3 skaters with over 80 points. Leading the way for those 3 is JT Miller, who is closing in on a 100-point season. He came through for us just over a week ago with this exact same prop, and now he has an even more favorable matchup against the Arizona Coyotes.

Although it’s a road game, Arizona is still allowing the 7th-most goals per game, and Miller has loved facing them in his career. In his last 10 games against them, he’s recorded at least a point in 9 of them, and 15 in total. There was also an incredible 5-assist game in that stretch, and we only need one from him tonight to cash another one of our NHL prop bet picks for today.
