Champions League pick today: Napoli ML over Eintracht Frankfurt (+110), 3:00 pm ET

Napoli already has one hand on the Scudetto in Italy, so is free to focus more attention on a run in the Champions League. The leaders have won 20 of their 23 games in Serie A to open up a big lead, but their good form hasn’t just been contained to league games as Napoli also won a tough Champions League group, averaging more than 3 goals per game. That firepower, coupled with Serie A’s best defense, should be too much for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Champions League pick today: Liverpool vs Real Madrid – Both teams to score – Yes (-175), 3:00 pm ET

Only a great performance from Real Madrid goalie Thibaut Courtois stopped Liverpool scoring in last season’s Champions League final and the Reds can at least get on the scoresheet when these giants of European soccer meet again in the round of 16 this afternoon.

The return of Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino from injury has improved the English club’s firepower and offense could be the best form of defense for Liverpool. The goals flowed regularly for both teams in the Champions League group stage, with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah scoring 7 times, while the competition’s top scorer from last season, Karim Benzema, is expected to feature after missing Madrid’s win over Osasuna on Saturday. For that reason, backing both teams to score will be the play.

NHL pick today: New Jersey Devils -1.5 over Montreal Canadiens (-130), 7:00 pm ET

One of the biggest mismatches in the Eastern Conference we could possibly have takes place in New Jersey tonight. This will be the Canadiens’ 3rd straight road game and the last 2 have gone about as poorly as you could imagine. They were outscored 11-3 in those games, and this will also be their third game in a row playing a team that is in the top 2 in their division. The trend of multiple-goal losses looks likely to continue with the Devils also having Jack Hughes back healthy. The Devils defeated the Canadiens 5-1 earlier in the year in Montreal and should be just as dominant at home in New Jersey.

College basketball pick today: Miami Hurricanes +2 over Virginia Tech Hokies, 7:00 pm ET

After a convincing home win over Wake Forest, the Miami Hurricanes (22-5, 13-4) head back on the road tonight to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies (16-11, 6-10). The Hurricanes have won 6 straight games – a winning streak that started against the Hokies in Coral Gables – and are just 1 game behind the Virginia Cavaliers in the ACC regular-season title race. The Hurricanes have been electric offensively, scoring at least 1.1 points per possession in each of the 6 games during their winning streak. They lead the ACC in offensive efficiency, effective field-goal percentage, and 3-point percentage, so for that reason, backing the Hurricanes will be the play tonight.
