College Basketball: Mississippi State Bulldogs -5.5 over Drake Bulldogs (-110), 5:00 pm ET

Drake comes into the game losers of two straight. The Bulldogs lost by 8 to Saint Louis last time out and by 30 to Richmond in a game they were favored to win. It seems like something is not quite right for Drake right now, and whatever it is needs to get straightened out before conference play resumes.

Mississippi State on the other hand, is undefeated but its resume isn’t loaded. The Bulldogs’ best wins are 3-point victories over Marquette and Utah. However, backing Mississippi State looks to be the best option in this game for two reasons. Firstly, they have one of the best front-court tandems in the nation in Tolu Smith and D.J. Jeffries. Secondly, it’s clear that Drake is struggling right now and until this team finds its way out of it, they are not worth backing.

NHL pick today: Carolina Hurricanes ML over New Jersey Devils (-120), 7:07 pm ET

The New Jersey Devils start a quick 2-game southern road trip when they play the Carolina Hurricanes tonight. For teams that are tied for the Metropolitan Division lead, they have been going in opposite directions lately. The Devils jumped out to a hot start, but now have cooled, losing 6 of their last 8 games. The Hurricanes, on the other hand, are rolling and have won 9 of their last 10 games, with the only loss coming in a shootout. For that reason, look for a hot Hurricanes team to take advantage of a struggling Devils defense.

NBA pick today: New York Knicks -5 over Golden State Warriors (-110), 7:30 pm ET

The recently resurrected Knicks come into tonight’s game riding a 7-game win streak after a 109-106 win over Indiana. Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle and RJ Barrett provided the bulk of the offense, combining for 79 points.

The Knicks have successfully covered in all 7 of those wins, so losing Obi Toppin to a knee injury hasn’t derailed them as much as some people expected. No Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins really helps New York, and the Knicks will be motivated to end their long losing home streak against the Warriors. It’s been a wild run over the past 7 games, therefore backing the Knicks will be the play.

College Football pick today: Toledo Rockets -3.5 over Liberty Flames (-110), 7:30 pm ET

A battle of 8-win teams is set to take place in the Boca Raton Bowl this year when the Liberty Flames meet the Toledo Rockets. Averaging over 32 points per game on the year, the Rockets are led by their dominant rushing attack that amassed a robust 236 yards in their conference championship game. They’ve really shined, though, on the defensive side of the ball, specifically defending the pass (15th in FBS).

These teams come into this matchup on complete opposite ends of the spectrum. Toledo is riding high after being named conference champions, whereas Liberty has dropped 3 in a row, all games in which they entered as favorites. They have also covered just twice in their last 7 outings. The Rockets should be motivated to put an exclamation point on their tremendous season, and they should be able to do so in a resounding fashion.
