EPL pick today: Arsenal ML (-130) over Newcastle, 2:45 pm ET

Arsenal’s 4-2 win over Brighton and Manchester City’s 1-1 home tie with Everton on New Year’s Eve saw the Gunners move 7 points clear at the top of the Premier League standings as they aim to claim their first EPL crown since 2003. They were extremely impressive when hammering West Ham 3-1 in their first game back after the World Cup break and they put 4 goals past Brighton on the road. That was achieved without star striker Gabriel Jesus and there have been no signs of the Gunners failing to fire without the Brazilian leading their attack. Because Arsenal have been lethal all season when it comes to scoring, backing them to win will be the play.

College Basketball pick today: Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs Boston College Eagles – Over 130.5 points (-110), 7:00 pm ET

Notre Dame will likely be able to score enough to do their part in helping cash the over, so the bet likely comes down to Boston College’s offensive success. The Eagles’ offense is extremely poor, ranking just 276th in adjusted offensive efficiency. However, there are a few reasons to believe they could have a decent enough offensive game. The first reason is simply that Notre Dame’s defense is very porous. The next is how Boston College runs its offense, which is attacking the rim. The Eagles rank 56th in the percentage of shots at the rim, per Hoop-Math. Notre Dame ranks 317th in field goal percentage defense, so perhaps Boston College will be able to score effectively. Because neither defense has been good, backing the over will be the play.

NHL pick today: Buffalo Sabres vs Washington Capitals – Over 6.5 goals (-105), 7:00 pm ET

First and foremost, the Sabres are going to be looking to get back to their usual selves after scoring just a single goal on Sunday. Even with that very rare occurrence, they’re still averaging the most goals per game in the entire NHL, and are averaging nearly 4.5 goals per game over the last month.

The Caps have a strong defense for sure, but top defenseman John Carlson being out for the foreseeable future certainly doesn’t help them. Either way, the Sabres have the firepower to penetrate that defense at least a couple of times and even if they don’t, Ovechkin and the Caps can take care of business. The Caps have scored 16 goals in their last 3 games, and we’re expecting both teams to find the back of the net early and often in this contest.

NBA pick today: Oklahoma City Thunder +9 over Boston Celtics (-105), 8:10 pm ET

Following a disappointing loss at Denver, the Celtics continue their 4-game road trip in Oklahoma City tonight — facing a Thunder team they defeated 126-122 earlier in the season at TD Garden. They have a chance to bounce back against the unpredictable Thunder. It’s worth keeping in mind that the Celtics have covered the spread in just 1 of the last 7 meetings with OKC.

The Thunder on the other hand, are on a nice 7-3 ATS run at home over their last 10 games and they also have a 10-9 SU record in the 19 games played so far in OKC. With OKC covering in 6 of the last 10 meetings, backing them to keep this game close will be the play.
