FA Cup pick today: Manchester United ML over West Ham United (-190), 2:45 pm ET

Manager Erik ten Hag has the Red Devils of Manchester United firing and the quality of their home scoring form is bad news for FA Cup visitors West Ham.

The Hammers have reached the 5th round with away wins against Brentford and Derby but they have not won any of their last 10 road games in the Premier League and have scored in just 4 of their last 9. For that reason, backing Manchester United to reach the final 8 looks to be the best option.

EPL pick today: Liverpool vs Wolverhampton Wanderers – Both teams to score – Yes (-115), 3:00 pm ET

Liverpool has been inconsistent and sloppy all season and that was again seen in Saturday’s 0-0 tie at Crystal Palace. However, the Reds did hit the woodwork twice and are typically stronger at Anfield, where they have failed to score only once in 11 EPL games.

Wolves, on the other hand, have a little more attacking verve about them under Julen Lopetegui, having netted in 3 of their last 4 games, and they can play with more freedom after moving away from the relegation zone. Liverpool’s last home game was a 5-2 thriller with Real Madrid and, although this game may not live up to that standard, taking both teams to score looks a good way to play it.

College basketball pick today: TCU Horned Frogs -2.5 over Texas Longhorns (-115), 9:00 pm ET

The best play in this game is TCU to cover the short spread. TCU is one of the best teams in the country but can be underrated because of the losses suffered when star guard Mike Miles was out injured. The Horned Frogs lost 4 straight games without Miles but are already back on track with him in the lineup, winning 2 of their last 3 including wins against Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.

Texas shot terribly from deep in the teams’ first matchup and I expect that to happen again due to TCU’s great defense. According to KenPom, TCU’s defense is ranked #28 in 3-point percentage while Texas’s offense is ranked #154 in 3-point percentage. Backing TCU to cover will be the play.

NHL pick today: New Jersey Devils vs Colorado Avalanche – Under 6 goals (-105), 9:08 pm ET

Both these teams defend well. The Devils have done a great job of keeping pressure away from their net and not allowing scoring chances, ranking 8th in expected goals against.

The Avalanche are getting elevated play from projected starting goalie Alexandar Georgiev. Since February 1, Georgiev ranks 5th out of 69 goalies in goals saved above expected. Both of these units have ranked in the top 10 in goals allowed per game since the All-Star break, with the Devils ranking 7th and the Avalanche ranking 5th. For that reason, backing the under will be the play.
