Happy Labor Day and welcome to another wonderful week of sports, Pickswise Nation! The NFL will be with us in just 3 more days as the Bills play the Rams, but before that, we have a busy MLB slate, a college football game and U.S. Open tennis today, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

MLB mega parlay cashes at +820 odds!
Pickswise celebrated Sunday night in style after cashing our MLB mega parlay at +820 odds thanks to the Twins, Mariners (-1.5) and Giants. The team went 9-6 on ML/RL plays overall and it was another 2-0 day for our YRFI/NRFI best bets. The Yankees managed to avoid being swept by the Rays with a 2-1 win while the Nationals upset the Mets in a 7-1 win. The Dodgers got their 92nd win of the season, beating the Padres 9-4 on Sunday Night Baseball.

Florida State hangs on against LSU
There was only one college football game on Sunday, but it had a dramatic finish as LSU missed a PAT to lose 24-23 to Florida State after rallying from 24-10 behind. The Tigers had been 3-point favorites.

Today’s Slate

MLB has 13 games on Monday
Monday is often a quieter day in the MLB, but that’s not the case today with 13 games including plenty of afternoon action. The Blue Jays and Orioles are playing a doubleheader while the Mets and Pirates get things started at 12:35 pm ET. You can read our MLB picks for all of today’s games.

CFB Week 1 comes to a close
There’s one more college football game left in Week 1 as Clemson goes to Georgia Tech at 8:00 pm ET on ESPN. Read our predictions for today’s NCAAF game.

U.S. Open tennis gets serious
Quarterfinal spots are on offer at the U.S. Open today and Ricky Dimon, who is 14-5 with his picks for the tournament, has the best plays for U.S. Open Day 8.

NFL news and latest odds

Stafford good to go for NFL season opener
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford reportedly has no limitations and is fully healthy for their opener against the Bills after preseason concerns over an elbow injury. The Rams are 2.5-point home underdogs for the game, which has a total line of 52.5 points.

The Bills are +600 Super Bowl favorites at FanDuel Sportsbook, with the Buccaneers +750, the Chiefs +1000, the Rams +1100 and the Packers +1200.

Best Bet of the Day

MLB: Texas Rangers ML over Houston Astros
7:10 pm ET

Martin Perez of the Rangers has turned into one of the game’s elite pitchers, with a mid-2.00s ERA. The Rangers are a whopping 17-9 in his starts this season. The Astros are starting Hunter Brown, who is making his MLB debut. While the Rangers’ offense hasn’t been good this season, their wRC+ is higher than the Astros’ since August 1 (112 to 103). While the Houston bullpen is generally far better than the Texas bullpen, that hasn’t been the case recently. Getting Texas at +140 in this matchup is awesome. Check out our full Rangers vs Astros predictions.

Stat of the Day

Georgia Tech covered the spread against Clemson last year, but has scored just 31 points in the teams’ last 3 meetings.

Quote of the Day

“We’re at the start of a process, we’re still far away.”

New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is not getting overexcited by his team’s 4-game EPL win streak.
