Kansas City’s offense has topped the 30-point mark in each of its first two wins over Denver and Indianapolis. Following a fantastic defensive showing against the Broncos, the Chiefs yielded 30 points to the Colts last Sunday night. However, Indianapolis gained 329 yards, compared to 523 for Kansas City.
For as much as Miami’s offense has struggled, the Dolphins rank 27th in offensive EPA/play, ahead of the Packers, Buccaneers, and Chargers. The Dolphins scored 13 points in each of their first two losses, facing two defenses in the Raiders and 49ers that rank in the top eight of defensive EPA/play (Chiefs are 11th).
Kansas City’s pass defense sits fifth in EPA/Pass, while the Dolphins are near the bottom in EPA/Pass at 25th. The question is where the points will come from for Miami, who has scored more points than only Pittsburgh and Atlanta.
Although the personnel and head coach is different for Miami from 2025, the Dolphins closed last season on a 4-1 under run at Hard Rock Stadium. The Chiefs hit the under in five of seven road games last season, averaging 19.8 points per game and never reached 30 points. Kansas City is laying a bunch of points here and should win this outright, but likely in a lower-scoring game than we saw in the first two weeks at home.
