Of the entire 16-game Frozen Frenzy slate, the Anaheim Ducks are the second-biggest favorite on the board. It makes sense given the matchup with the Calgary Flames, which also makes this a Pacific Division rivalry. In fact, we just made Flames vs Ducks predictions this past Saturday!
That was a 4-2 Anaheim victory in Calgary, and with that coming off a 5-1 road victory over the Winnipeg Jets, we wouldn’t fault anyone for taking the Ducks on the puck line and calling it a day. However, we see more value getting plus-money elsewhere, which is needing just one more goal than we saw the other day. There is no denying that Anaheim has seriously turned things around and their fans should be excited about locking up Cutter Gauthier, but we still wouldn’t consider their goaltending to be elite. So, while the Flames aren’t exactly hot offensively either, we should only need a couple of goals from them. After all, their game prior to us making Flames vs Ducks predictions on Saturday was a 7-3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche. Anaheim still allows plenty of pressure on net, so what we’re looking for in this matchup is a 5-3 type of victory for the home team.
