The Dallas Stars open the 2026-27 season on home ice against the St. Louis Blues. Dallas is once again a contender for the top spot in the Central Division, but teams behind them have made improvements, notably the Blues, who have added much-needed scoring depth. We’ve seen some high-scoring games so far, and this one could be another.
Jake Oettinger is expected to get the start for Dallas, and he’s hoping to put last season behind him. His numbers were below what we’ve become accustomed to, but every new season brings a fresh start. Joel Hofer made a case to become the new starting goalie for his squad, but one decent season doesn’t guarantee a repeat. The goaltending on each side, coupled with the offensive firepower, could turn this game into a shootout. We’ll take the over and hope pucks find the back of the net.
