Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers had an impressive three-game winning streak over the Utah Mammoth, Minnesota Wild and Carolina Hurricanes, but that came to an end over the weekend against the Toronto Maple Leafs. It was a bad 7-2 loss to boot, but on the other side of Red Wings vs Oilers predictions was enough rough loss.
The Detroit Red Wings had their own drama heading into the season with Dylan Larkin, and it hasn’t been the best start to the season, either. They’ve been in Canada for a couple of games now, most recently losing 4-1 to the Calgary Flames. That’s who Edmonton has up next, but first, they’re clear favorites at home over Detroit. It certainly makes sense, and while we expect McDavid and company to get the job done, we don’t want to pay the premium with our best Red Wings vs Oilers prediction. So, we’re calling for them to get the job done inside the 60 minutes.
Even if the blowout loss to the Leafs looked bad, Edmonton still has the third-shortest odds to win the Stanley Cup. Not that they’re even considered, Detroit has the third-longest at around+30000.
