The Seattle Kraken wrap up their road trip in Sunrise to take on the Panthers. It’s still early in the season, but the Kraken have exceeded expectations. They are scoring close to 4 goals per game and have a 4-1-1 road record. The offence is the most surprising part, given that the team doesn’t have a true superstar. They will cool off at some point, but it may not be tonight.
The Panthers have won two in a row, but the way they’ve done it hasn’t inspired confidence. Brady Tkachuk has scored six of the last ten goals, and it took OT to get past the Canucks, the worst team in the league. The offence is still not executing at the level we’ve come to expect, and a big reason is the power play, which is operating at just 17.5%. The Panthers could win this game, and it would surprise no one, but we are getting very good value by backing Seattle, so that’s the route we will take.
