The NHL season may only be three days old, but we already have back-to-back situations! That’s what Trevor Zegras and the Philadelphia Flyers have tonight, visiting Jack Hughes and the New Jersey Devils taking the ice for the first time. Last year’s Flyers vs Devils predictions came through in sweeping fashion for Philly, who took the season series 3-0.
They won each of those games by multiple goals and a combined score of 16-7, yet they find themselves as clear underdogs tonight -- and last night was ugly as it gets. Those prior meetings are worth keeping in mind for Flyers vs Devils predictions with these teams looking very similar to last year’s rosters, with the noteworthy news being the contract for Dan Vladar in net for Philly and the depth added in New Jersey. Well, Vladar was in net for the Flyers last night against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and besides, these teams totaled nine, eight and six goals when they clashed last season. Along with a healthy Jack Hughes plus added depth behind him and a fatigued Philly squad already having to play a back-to-back, I'm expecting six or more tonight, as well.
