The Blues started their four-game road trip with a 5-4 win over the Red Wings on Saturday night. Looking to keep the momentum going, St. Louis is set for a Tuesday night battle against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden. St. Louis' goal-scoring prowess has been fairly boom-or-bust this season, but the Blues should be able to find success in this matchup against the Rangers.
The absence of Igor Shesterkin between the pipes is starting to become a glaring issue for New York. Dylan Garand started strong when Shesterkin first went down, but he has now lost four consecutive starts and allowed 15 total goals in that span. His workload continues to be enormous, as he's made 10 straight starts in net for the Broadway Blueshirts. That extreme usage seems to be catching up to him. The Blues have potted nine goals over their last two games, so Garand could have his hands full in this one. St. Louis goaltender Joel Hofer owns a steady 2.42 goals-against average and .917 save percentage this season, and he gives the Blues the edge in net. Playing on the road, look for St. Louis to find the win column in this one.
