Both the Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks have some work to do in the Pacific Division, but the former didn’t exactly have any expectations heading into this season. That said, they may be the focus of some Canucks vs Sharks predictions given that they’re the ones coming off an impressive comeback victory.
Despite being massive underdogs, down 4-1 after two periods and 5-2 about midway through the third period, they upset the Anaheim Ducks 6-5 in overtime. That same night, we saw Macklin Celebrini and the Sharks completely shut out on home ice in a loss to the Buffalo Sabres. Even with all that in mind, Vancouver is still nearly as big of an underdog as they were against the Ducks. Given that the Canucks pulling off the upset was just their third win of the season, we’re still backing San Jose with our best Canucks vs Sharks prediction.
The aforementioned Celebrini is enough to slice through Vancouver himself, even if the rest of the roster isn’t as deep as most. We’re not talking about needing that for their chances of winning the Pacific, however - we’re only worried about them getting the job done here without needing overtime.
