The last time we saw the San Jose Sharks on the ice, we capitalized by taking the Dallas Stars 3-way money line at plus-money, as they won with ease in 5-0 fashion. As great as that was, the primary storyline was the lack of Macklin Celebrini due to a lower-body injury. Of course, that massively impacts Sharks vs Blues predictions.
The 20-year-old received a monster $94 million contract this offseason, so it’s safe to say that the team’s success relies on him being available. The good news for San Jose is that the team listed him as only day-to-day following that loss to the Stars. Speaking of young superstars that are banged up, the Chicago Blackhawks are starting their season without 21-year-old Connor Bedard, yet they just beat the St. Louis Blues 4-2. That came after a 6-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche, but with their season-opener being a 4-0 win against the aforementioned Stars, St. Louis has been all over the map this season.
As for our best Sharks vs Blues prediction, we’re still going to take the home team, as this will be their home opener of the season. This is with the expectation of Joel Hofer confirmed in net, as we have preferred him to Jordan Binnington since last season, and he’s the one who shut out the Stars in their season-opening win.
Sharks vs Blues prediction: St. Louis ML (-115) available at time of publishing. Playable to -130.
