With the NBA off tonight, the spotlight is on the ice, and I've cooked up an NHL parlay for Tuesday's action, starting with a goalfest between the Mammoth and Maple Leafs. Both of these teams have been hot on offense and struggled on defense. Toronto is averaging 3.75 goals per game, which ranks fourth in the NFL, while Utah is in seventh with a 3.60 average. Leafs goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has allowed 3+ goals in nine of his 10 starts this season, while Utah goalie Karel Vejmelka is experiencing some regression. Expect plenty of goals from both teams in this one.
Next on our NHL parlay, I'm backing the Canadiens to beat the Jets in regulation. Winnipeg has been on a four-game road trip and so far it's been a disaster, with the Jets getting outscored 18-6 and losing 7-0 to the Hurricanes last time. Winnipeg is winless in its last nine games, with seven of those defeats coming in regulation. With the Canadiens on a five-game win streak, expect them to dominate the Jets tonight.
To round off tonight's NHL parlay, I'm taking the Lightning to win in regulation against the Red Wings. Detroit just beat Florida last night, but being on a back-to-back is far from ideal for them, especially with the Dylan Larkin situation still hanging over them. The Lightning are 8-3-2 and have been hot on offense, averaging 3.69 goals per game. They should be able to get the job done against a fatigued Red Wings team.
