The Vancouver Canucks will host the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday night. The Canucks will be on the second half of a back-to-back after a win last night on home ice against the Calgary Flames. Netminder Kevin Lankinen is projected to get the start for the Canucks on Sunday. In his first two games of the season, he has given up 13 goals and has a .789 SVP -- not a great start. Playing a team with fire power like the Golden Knights could mean for another long night for Lankinen.
The Golden Knights' forward group, led by Jack Eichel, is very deep and dynamic. It is going to be very difficult for the young Canucks to keep up with them. They have three solid lines that all can produce offense, and a fourth line that will chip the puck in and grind down the opposing teams defense to keep the momentum going.
The Canucks are completely out-classed in this matchup, and the Golden Knights should be able to cruise to victory. The Golden Knights should have the lead in this game late into the third period, bringing in the chance for an empty-net goal if needed. Give me the Golden Knights on the puck line.
Golden Knights vs. Canucks prediction: Vegas Golden Knights -1.5 (+105) available at time of publishing. Playable to -105.
