COL vs WPG Prediction, Odds and NHL Picks for Today

The Avalanche and Jets are set for a Wednesday night battle in Winnipeg. Colorado's offensive attack is off to a tremendous start to the new season, as the Avs have potted 14 goals through two games. That isn't necessarily surprising to see, as Colorado possesses elite playmakers up and down their lineup who know how to do plenty of damage in a hurry. Colorado's offensive success has a strong chance to continue in this matchup, as Winnipeg's goaltending situation continues to be in flux without Connor Hellebuyck available. Both Stuart Skinner and Clay Stephenson are a substantial step back from what Hellebuyck brings to the table, so the Avs should be able to have a solid night in the offensive zone.

The Jets have scored exactly three goals in all three of their games to open the new campaign. Kyle Connor and Cole Perfetti lead the way with five points apiece, while veteran center Mark Scheifele is still searching for his first points of the season. Scheifele has 190 points over 164 games the last two seasons, so it's most likely just a matter of time before he gets on the score sheet. He has 46 points in 43 career games against Colorado, so perhaps he ignites a spark for the Winnipeg offense in this one. All in all, there should be plenty of scoring chances to go around on both sides. Look to the over.
