The Jets pulled off a miracle on Tuesday against the Canadiens by erasing a 4-0 deficit in the final two minutes and 39 seconds of regulation. It was the latest four-goal comeback in NHL history, and Winnipeg went on to win 5-4 in overtime. The Jets had struggled to score goals early on this season, but perhaps that incredible victory gets them going. With plenty of momentum, the Winnipeg offense is in a strong position to keep things rolling against a Vancouver team that is allowing an NHL-high 4.53 goals per game. The Canucks' penalty killing has also been abysmal, ranking 31st in the league at 63.2%. The Jets should be able to find plenty of scoring changes in this one.
In the midst of a lengthy rebuild, the Canucks are scoring 3.0 goals per game. Vancouver has a long way to go in competing for the playoffs, but there are some good young pieces in place. Most notably, Jonathan Lekkerimaki looks extremely impressive with 13 points through 17 games. Winnipeg is slated to send Stuart Skinner between the pipes, and he has allowed 14 goals over his last three outings. Given Skinner's recent struggles, the Canucks should be able to score enough to take this one over the listed total of 6.5.
