The Carolina Hurricanes hit the road for New England to tangle with the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Saturday afternoon, kicking off a busy slate in the National Hockey League. The Canes annihilated the visiting New York Islanders 6-2 on Thursday night at Lenovo Center in Raleigh. The win was a costly one, as Seth Jarvis left the game with a lower-body injury after blocking a shot late in the third period with his left skate. Jarvis joins Shayne Gostisbehere on the shelf in the day-to-day variety, while rearguards K’Andre Miller and Jaccob Slavin are also on Injured Reserve. Depth players William Carrier and Eric Robinson are also on IR, as is backup goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov. The Canes might be a bit in disarray with a bunch of injuries causing new line combinations and some unfamiliarity.

The Bruins have cashed the Over in the past three, and five of the past six games. The B’s have been scoring plenty, and that’s concerning for a Canes team with defensive woes due to injury. At first, the thinking about to go Under, as Carolina is scrambling with line combos, but we’ll simply take Boston outright to get the win, as it is on home ice, and playing well of late.
