Oddly enough, rookie Brandon Bussi has been the most consistent option, as Frederik Andersen and Pyotr Kochetkov have not been getting the job done lately, perhaps a byproduct of not playing regularly. Bussi is confirmed to go on Thursday in Washington, as he goes for his 10th victory of the season. He is 9-1-0 with a 2.09 GAA and .909 SV% with a shutout so far. He has won seven straight games since Oct. 25, his only regulation loss.

The Under is on a 6-1-1 run for the Hurricanes, and the total has gone low at a 3-2-1 clip in the past 6 games for the Capitals, too. Logan Thompson is expected to start for the Caps, and the Under is 3-1 in his past 4 outings, with the Capitals allowing just 13 goals in the past 8 games. Washington just hasn’t been giving up goals, whether it’s Thompson or Charlie Lindgren in the blue ice. And, the Caps offense isn’t likely to get much against Bussi, who has been red-hot. The under is a strong play in this battle between Metropolitan Division rivals.
