It has been a whirlwind lately in Los Angeles, as they have conducted a major trade for star Artemi Panarin, lost key forward Kevin Fiala for at least the regular season, and have just fired head coach Jim Hillier. Drew Doughty (day-to-day), Joelle Armia (day-to-day), and Andrei Kuzmenko (out) are also banged up or will miss the game. While I do expect a strong effort in their first game after firing Hillier, the Avalanche are too much of a threat for me to expect a Kings win. The Avalanche continue to dominate, as they have won 2/3 games since returning from the Olympics, and 3-1-0 in their last four overall. If the previous two meetings this season are any indication, Colorado should not have an issue. Los Angeles has also been very bad on home ice, with a 9-13-7 record. I don’t expect things to change for the Kings just yet, so we are siding with Colorado winning in regulation on Monday.
