Detroit Red Wings vs Carolina Hurricanes Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 12/27/25

The Detroit Red Wings posted three straight wins, and five of six victories, prior to the Christmas break. Detroit has outscored the opposition 12-7, with a pair of one-goal wins in the past two games, both in overtime. The Under is 5-2 in the past seven games, but the Over cashed in two of the three games before the break. The Red Wings have lit the lamp three or more times in five of the past six games, and 10 of 12 in December. The Over has a slight 4-3 edge in the past seven road outings, too.

The Carolina Hurricanes cashed in three straight games prior to the holiday break, averaging 3.0 goals per game (GPG) during the streak, while allowing 5.0 GPG. The Canes have managed to score at least three goals in seven of the past eight games, averaging 3.4 GPG, while allowing 3.0 GPG in that eight-game run. After plenty of rest, both of these sides should be raring to go. I expect that we see at least seven goals, if not more, as the teams get back on the ice. Both Carolina and Detroit have been off since Tuesday night, so the energy levels will be high, and the defense will be low.
