Oilers vs Flames Pickswise Expert Predictions

Money Line Pick
EDM Oilers Win(-135)

We’ve got the Battle of Alberta on Wednesday night in the NHL as the league just about heads to the Olympic break. This is their fourth and final matchup, as Calgary looks to win the season series 3-1. To get you set for the action, here is our Oilers vs. Flames prediction.

Edmonton may be on their second half of a back to back, but I like them to win this game. They were forced to do only a short road trip within the province of Alberta, and they are a much stronger team than Calgary. The Oilers obviously boast two of the great players in the game, but they have a deeper roster that has playoffs on their minds, as opposed to a diminished Flames roster. Offense is the key difference here, and can really help propel Edmonton to a win, as their fourth-highest scoring average (3.42 per game) is taking on the NHL’s worst (2.47 per game). Calgary has won two of three meetings this season, but this is Edmonton’s chance to empty the tank before a break, and gather a much-needed two points. They are currently tied for the division lead, but have played the most amount of games within the Western Conference (57), and are six points up on sixth in the division. This is an opportunity they cannot let go to waste, and I expect them to show up ready to dominate. With that in mind, let’s side with the Edmonton Oilers on the money line.
