Wild vs Avalanche Pickswise Expert Predictions

Game Totals Pick
Over 6.5(-105)

The Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche played a chaotic Game 1 that resulted in a 9-6 win for Colorado. Expecting 15 total goals again in Game 2 seems a bit unrealistic, but these teams should be able to clear the listed total of 6.5. Both teams played at a frantic pace in Game 1, as Minnesota fired 36 shots on goal and Colorado had a whopping 43. Furthermore, 14 of the 15 goals scored came at even strength. Only a single power play goal was scored on a combined 5 power play opportunities, and given the elite talent and playmaking ability on both man advantages, it’s only a matter of time before both power plays get rolling.

The Wild are a bit short-handed, as they are currently playing without top line center Joel Eriksson Ek and defenseman Jonas Brodin. Eriksson Ek is a tremendous 200-foot player, and Brodin is Minnesota’s best defensive-defenseman on the roster. Those losses give Colorado a bit more of an advantage in the offensive zone. Colorado defenseman Josh Manson missed Game 1 and is questionable to play in Game 1. Like Brodin, Manson is a tremendous defensive-defenseman, and his absence would be a big one for the Avs. All in all, both offenses should have the edge once again. Look to the over.

Wild vs Avalanche prediction: Over 6.5 (-105) available at time of publishing. Playable to -110.
