The Washington Capitals will be hosting the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night. The Capitals come into this game spinning their tires a bit. They are 3-6-1 in their last 10 games. They will be without their superstar forward Jack Hughes who recently suffered a hand injury in an off-ice incident. Without Hughes, this team isn’t nearly as scary. He is leading their team with 20 points in 17 games. They will be going up against one of the best defensive teams in hockey, so not having their leading point scorer will hurt.

The Capitals are tied for third best in the league averaging 2.59 goals against per game. This is largely due to the play of netminder Logan Thompson who is slated to get the start on Saturday. He has a very impressive 1.85 GAA and .923 SVP in 12 starts this season. They are returning home from a four-game road trip where they went 1-3, I expect them to kick off this homestand with a solid performance. Give me the Capitals on the money line in this one.
